Salty Turtle Beer Company is a veteran owned and operated brewery, dedicated to serve the local community by brewing a variety of crafted beer in a relaxing environment that welcomes family, friends, and (well mannered) dogs to sit back and enjoy ones company.
We are a 3bbl nano-brewery that values our customers who will play a pivotal role in establishing our rotating tap line up, creating a unique craft experience each visit.
Both Daniel and Dean have been homebrewing since 2013. Each had their independent dreams of creating a brewery for the community of Surf City, Sneads Ferry, Hampstead and Holly Ridge. Daniel and Dean met in 2016, they lived in the same neighborhood and realized they both shared the same passion of owning a brewery. Zack White partnered with Daniel and Dean, May of 2017, his knowledge of prior and existing small businesses will ensure the success of the brewery. Salty Turtle Beer Company is all about being a “neighborhood brewery”. We have partnered with Karen Beasley’s Sea Turtle Hospital and other local organizations that will give back to this community of ours.
Born and raised in San Diego, CA. Currently serving as a Marine, Active Duty. Passionate about the art of brewing and always had dreams about owning a small business. Fell in love with the art of homebrewing in 2014. When not at the brewery, Dan enjoys spending time with Man's best friend "Axel", traveling, and golf.
Born and raised in Massillon, Ohio. Upon graduating High School, Dean Kelley enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and served eight honorable years. Dean Kelley enjoys brewing great beer and sharing his beer to family and friends who thoroughly enjoy the final product. When not spending countless hours in the brewery, Dean enjoys spending time with his wife, Zay, and their two Australian Shepherds, Bodhi and Jonny. Both Bodhi and Jonny will be regulars at Salty Turtle Beer Company!
Born and raised in North Carolina, Zack has been a frequent visitor of Topsail Island his entire life. With his recent work in the craft beer industry being in Las Vegas, NV, he's is excited to be involved with a brewery project back in his home state. Outside of brewing Zack enjoys playing poker, golfing, and spending time with his family.
Both Dan and Dean enjoy a variety of styles of beer. Our main focus will be sessionable beers such as, Blonde Ales, Wheat Ales, IPAs, Pale Ales, Porters, Stouts, Saisons, just to name a few!
